How to use Convert PDF to Grayscale

The tool renders each page to an image, converts every pixel to grayscale and rebuilds a new PDF from JPEG page images.

The output is grayscale.pdf. Because pages are rasterized, text, links, forms and vectors may become image content.

Selectable text and interactive features may be lost because pages are rasterized.
Color-coded charts can become harder to distinguish.
The result is not guaranteed to be smaller than the original.

Will grayscale reduce file size?

It may, but the result depends on the original compression and page complexity.

Does text remain searchable?

Not necessarily. The pages are rebuilt from images.

Are all colors converted?

Rendered page pixels are converted to grayscale, including images and colored text.

Can I convert selected pages only?

The current version converts every page.

Should I use this for professional printing?

Review the output and consult your print provider when exact color-management requirements matter.
