How to use Remove PDF Metadata

The tool opens the document, empties several standard information fields and updates the modification date before saving a new PDF.

The output is metadata-removed.pdf. The original file remains unchanged on your device.

This does not guarantee removal of every XMP property, attachment, annotation or hidden object.
Visible page content and file names are not changed.
A determined recipient may still infer information from the document itself.

Which fields are cleared?

The tool clears common title, author, subject, keywords, creator and producer values.

Does it remove all possible metadata?

No. PDF files can contain additional XMP data, attachments and structures beyond these standard fields.

Will visible content change?

The tool is intended to change metadata fields, not the visible pages.

Should I verify the result?

Yes. Open the cleaned file with View PDF Metadata and perform any additional privacy review needed.

Is the original overwritten?

No. A new metadata-removed.pdf file is downloaded.
